Improv Jams

What is an improv jam?

  • It’s like an open mic for long-form improv
  • Bring your own team (4-6 people) or come solo
  • Solo players will be assigned to a group for the jam

Who can perform at a jam?

  • Improvisers who have completed a long-form improv class with Regan Starr are welcome to perform.
  • For exceptions, please contact us.

2 options to perform

At the jam, you will write your name on a card and place it under one of these options:

  1. Solo Player
    • You’ll be assigned to a group for the jam
  2. Team
    • You assemble a team of 4-6 people and perform together

Performer Info

  • If you bring your own team, you can do any style of long-form during your set (montage, monoscene, living room opening, etc.)
  • Solo players will perform the “montage” format. You’ll get a suggestion and launch into your first scene (no opening).
  • Stage time is divided equally among the groups performing. For example, if there are four groups, then each group will do a 15 minute set.
